This past Friday, I had the pleasure of attending the 18th Annual Antiques & Design Show Benefit at the historic Mulford Farm in East Hampton. The event, which benefits the East Hampton Historical Society, kicked off with a spectacular Preview Party that truly set the tone for a weekend dedicated to celebrating antiques and design.
A Prestigious Gathering
Upon arrival, it was clear that this wasn’t just any ordinary event. The Antiques & Design Show is renowned for attracting leaders in architectural, interior, and landscape design, and this year was no exception. The presence of Tony Ingrao and Randy Kemper as Honorary Chairs added a touch of glamour and prestige. It was fascinating to mingle with such esteemed figures and hear their insights on design trends and historical preservation.
A Premier Showcase
The Preview Party offered an exclusive first look at the region’s premier showcase of antiques and decorative arts for the home and garden. The variety and quality of the items on display were astounding. From exquisite colonial-era furniture to mid-century modern decor, every piece told a story and reflected the rich history of design. As a "Show Sponsor," I enjoyed VIP status, allowing me to browse the show at a leisurely pace and engage with the knowledgeable exhibitors.
Supporting a Worthy Cause
One of the highlights of the evening was knowing that my participation and support were contributing to the East Hampton Historical Society. This organization does invaluable work in preserving the cultural heritage of our community, and it felt rewarding to be part of an event that supports such a worthy cause. All Show Supporters were acknowledged in both digital and printed copies of the Antiques & Design Show Program, a small but meaningful recognition of our contributions.
The Perfect Setting
The historic Mulford Farm provided the perfect backdrop for the event. Its charming, rustic ambiance added to the allure of the antiques on display. Walking through the farm, I could almost feel the history seeping through its walls, enhancing the experience of viewing pieces from various eras.
Gratitude for Our Sponsors
A special thanks goes out to our corporate sponsors, Ralph Lauren and Doyle, whose generous support made the event possible. Their contributions not only helped in organizing the show but also in ensuring that the East Hampton Historical Society continues its mission.
A Must-Attend Event
As the evening drew to a close, I couldn’t help but reflect on how memorable the event had been. The Preview Party was indeed one of the highlights of the summer season, offering a unique blend of culture, history, and design. If you ever have the chance to attend the East Hampton Antiques & Design Show, I highly recommend it. It's more than just an event; it's an experience that celebrates our past while inspiring our future.
Mark your calendars for next year, and don't miss the opportunity to be part of this incredible gathering. Until then, I’ll be cherishing the memories and the new connections made at this year’s show.
